Tra Thomas Talks Eagles & Offensive Tackle Position (PST Show #250)

This week, we’re celebrating our 250th show here at The Philadelphia Sports Table! What better was to do it than with former Eagle great Tra Thomas who was a three time Pro Bowler and staple on the Eagles offensive line during the Andy Reid era. Thomas, an NFC Champion, talked to us about this Eagles offensive line and also how being a lineman has developed within the NFL since his time on the field.
But first, on the Brief News & Views Segment:
1. The Flyers had an amazing February. (3:25)
2. Listener feedback – Gabe Kapler, Eagles Super Bowl win and Eric Lindros. (11:25)
3. LeBron James and the Sixers. (20:15)
4. Hector Neris and the Phillies bullpen. (26:15)
Then we get into our Up or Down segment where we briefly analyze Philly sports figures to determine if their needle is moving up or down. (31:30)
What we’re throwing down on the Table this week is an awesome interview with No. 72, Tra Thomas, who many of us grew up watching on the Eagles offensive line. We were honored to celebrate our 250th show by having him jump onboard with us! As one of the all-time great left tackles in the NFL, we first talked to Tra about his early days in the NFL, the pressures young players face, and how he prepared for games. We also dove into how offensive linemen and the positions have developed over the decades. From there, we got right into this current Eagles offensive line, dissected Big V’s year after the Jason Peters injury, and what Tra’s future may hold in the coaching world. Plus so much more during this interview. It’s definitely one you won’t want to miss! (42:05)
