The Flyers Season Ups & Downs (PST Show #233)

The Philadelphia Flyers have, thus far, been an interesting team to follow over the past few weeks and we’re learning much from these players and coaching staff. This week, we dive into the Flyers season and get into their ups and downs, with Bill Matz (@Billadelphia) from the Broad Street Hockey Radio & Yelling About Sports podcasts.
But first, on the Brief News & Views segment:
1.) Sixers Talk: Markelle Fultz’s injury, and the highlights from Simmons, Embiid and Covington. (6:00)
2. The Phillies and Cesar Hernandez. (21:15)
3. A look at key Eagles injuries, what they mean for the team moving forward, and our predictions for this week’s game vs. the 49’ers. (27:50)
Then we get into our Up or Down segment where we briefly analyze four Philly sports personalities to determine if their needle is moving up or down. (38:20)
What we’re throwing down on the Table this week is a great interview and discussion with Bill Matz from the BSH Radio and Yelling About Sports podcasts about the ups and downs from this Flyers team after we’ve witnessed a few weeks of the season. Bill gave us his overall team and coaching grades while shedding light on how the Andrew MacDonald injury has impacted the defense. Bill also discussed his thoughts and provided analysis concerning the goalie situation with Brian Elliott, and the overall communications issues we saw from the Flyers this past week regarding Travis Sanheim’s playing time. How have Jakub Voracek and Claude Giroux contributed to the success of the top line, and will this Flyers team contend for a playoff spot? All of these topics and much more on this week’s show and interview. (46:50)
