On the day after Thanksgiving, Eagles fans will be rejoicing. According to a report from John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia, the team will be moving Jason Peters over to right guard and allowing Jordan Mailata back to Left Tackle.
The report cites that Peters had been suffering with Turf Toe which was aggravated in the loss to Cleveland – a game where he allowed 3 sacks, 3 QB hits, and 7 total pressures. Peters was pulled in favor of Maialta with around 3 minutes go to in the disappointing loss.
Fans were infuriated at the decision to start peters over 23-year-old Jordan Mailata, who had previously been one of the team’s most pleasant surprises. The former seventh-round pick held his own against top pass-rushing talent in losses to Batimore and Pittsburgh and had a great game against San Francisco. Even if his play does end up at a similar level to Peters, the fact is that he features in the team’s long-term plans, will benefit from the experience having never played a regular-season game until this year, and has room to grow. Jason Peters ticks none of those boxes.
Peters was initially signed to play right guard but that jump was expected to be troublesome at best. He only shifted to tackle when a freak injury to Andre Dillard left the Eagles in shock, not only of the injury, but of Peters demanding more pay.

Whether or not he remains at RG or is eventually pulled altogether will remain to be seen, but this should be a huge sigh of relief and a sign that the coaching staff are at least aware of changes that need to be made.
The Eagles are preparing for a Monday night clash with the Seattle Seahawks, who have long been a bogey team. Could this be a catalyst for some sense of hope after a dismal season so far?
