PST SPECIAL: Realmuto Comes To Philly, Fultz Leaves

On this PST SPECIAL podcast show, Jeff and Len sat down to discuss the recent huge news that is surrounding the Philadelphia Phillies and 76’ers – two huge moves and trades that have potential and tremendous impact on these teams moving forward. All-Star catcher J.T. Realmuto was traded to the Phillies and Markelle Fultz has left town for Orlando.
We first discussed the the Realmuto trade. The Phillies and Marlins completed a trade that boosts this Phils roster. It sends All-Star catcher J.T. Realmuto to Philadelphia, meanwhile the Marlins acquired catcher Jorge Alfaro, right-handed prospect Sixto Sanchez, left-handed prospect Will Stewart, and $250,000 in international signing bonus slot money. The Realmuto acquisition provides the Phillies with one of the most compelling offseasons in quite some time as Matt Klentak and the front office are in a “win now” mode of operation. We got into it!
We then dove into the Markelle Fultz trade. The Sixers and Orlando Magic completed a trade that sent Fultz down to the Sunshine State for Jonathan Simmons, a 2019 second-round pick, and a 2020 protected first via Oklahoma City. The guys discussed how the drafting of Fultz will affect this Sixers team long-term and how the remainder of this season looks moving forward.
