Pittsburgh Penguins’ Sidney Crosby activated, Philadelphia Flyers’ Joel Farabee out for tonight’s game

The Pittsburgh Penguins have activated Sidney Crosby from the COVID Protocol Related Absence list ahead of Thursday night’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Crosby missed Tuesday’s game against the Flyers while on the list.

Crosby is tied for the team lead in goals (7), assists (11) and points (19) in 20 games.

Flyers forward Joel Farabee was added to the COVID-19 list. He is the 10th Philadelphia player to enter the protocol this season, and first since Travis Konecny was cleared on Sunday following a two-week stint.

Assistant coach Todd Reirden has passed the COVID Protocol, and is cleared to return to his regular duties tonight at PPG Paints Arena.

The Penguins also recalled forwards Anthony Angello and Josh Currie from the taxi squad.

Also, Nashville’s Ryan Johansen was also cleared from the protocol list following a two-day stint. That leaves a season-low-matching three players listed, including San Jose’s Tomas Hertl, who entered his ninth day in the protocol.
